Located in the heart of the Nene Valley, 2 miles south of Wellingborough on the B570.
A network of long and short trails through 83 hectares of mixed woodland. The park plays host to a wealth of wildlife such as woodpeckers and sparrow hawks. The Park has been awarded the Forestry Centre of Excellence award because of the way it balances the needs of conservation with recreation and the production of timber.
Picnic meadows. Children’s adventure playground. Accessible trails. Audio tape trail. Orienteering trail. Visitor Information Centre with children’s activities, souvenirs and countryside information. Ironstone Railway Museum (Free entry). Ranger led countryside activities for schools and groups. All facilities are provided with accessibility in mind and there is a wheelchair for loan in the Visitor Centre.
Opening Times Top Car parks open all year 24 hrs. Lower car parks and toilets open 9.00am to 5.00pm weekdays, 9.00am to 6.00pm Summer weekends. Toilets closed Christmas Day. Visitor Information Centre and souvenir shop open 11.00am to 5.00pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday April to August inclusive. Saturday and Sunday only from September to March inclusive.
Admission Free for pedestrians, cyclists and buses. Pay and display car parking in operation. Car parking close to all amenities. Annual parking permits available.
