Northampton's 78 Derngate has been re-crafted back to the way it was remodelled in 1916 by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and is well worth a visit.
Throughout the summer, the gardens of many of Northamptonshire's historic homes form the back-drop and scenery for many types of entertainment: classical, jazz and pop music, living history re-enactments, and open-air theatre. Steam fairs, country fairs, craft and antique fairs take place throughout the season.
Northamptonshire is the home of Motorsport with stock car racing at Brafield Stadium, F1 & MotoGP racing at Silverstone, or top fuel drag racing at Santa Pod.
The county also has lots of fun activities on offer for families and children, ranging from roller coasters, water rides, and playgrounds at Wicksteed Park, hands-on farm attractions in the countryside, and regular steam train rides offered by the Nene Valley and the Northampton & Lamport railways.
Tale your seat before the curtain rises at any of Northamptonshire's theatres which regularly host local and west-end productions. You can choose from the Royal & Derngate in Northampton, Castle Theatre in Wellingborough, Corby Cube in Corby or The Stahl Theatre in the market town of Oundle.

You may also wish to have a go at another sporting activity, peculiar to the county - Northamptonshire Skittles, often played in local village pubs - it's a fun and noisy game!
