Getting around and between the towns and villages of Northamptonshire is easy and there are many ways to move around - whether on foot, on a bike, by car, electric scooter, boat, or public transport.
We have a good road network connecting the main towns of the county - the primary routes being the A14, A6, A45, A43, A5, A428, A605, A509 and A508
With more and more electric vehicles on the road, investment is being made to provide more public charging points within our towns and out-of-town leisure and shopping areas.
If you prefer to cycle, Northamptonshire has miles and miles of cycle paths, both in towns and rural areas. E-Scooters are also becoming a more popular way to make short journeys and more scooters are being made available.
The Public Transport network is quite extensive with buses running between towns and villages and rail travel possible between some towns.
For a more leisurely form of transport, the waterways of the grand union canal and Nene Valley are easily accessbile by canal boats or river cruisers.
